Essays, Theses, And Dissertations!

Oh, my!r

One part of any student’s academic career is writing papers and essays. Indeed, writing is an essential part of the process of obtaining a degree in higher education. And while ensuring that all work you turn in is your own work, there are ways that you can approach it to make it easier – for example, by working with a custom writing company. Now please be aware – I’m not talking about plagiarism, which I completely oppose and unconditionally denounce. Instead, I am talking about the use of things like a dissertation template or professional help editing essay for high stakes work like your thesis or dissertation on the graduate school level. After all, every professional writer has editors, and there is nothing unethical about that.

Hard Drive Solutions?

Every now and then, I look over at the old computer sitting across the room, and wistfully wonder if there is any way to recover data from the hard drive that crashed. IÂ’ll be honest, most of what was on it was not that precious, but I wish I had thought to back up some old pictures of my late grandmother, her obituary, and the text file with the eulogy my father delivered. IÂ’ve managed to recover most of it, but some of those pictures are gone for good. I recently ran across a site that might help me out, because it has all sorts of article on Hard Drives and Operating Systems that might allow me to find a way to access those files on that dead drive. IÂ’ll let you know if I have any success with the techniques suggested.

Term Papers Online

I remember the "paper services" that were always posting stuff around campus when I was in college. Now that field has gotten a lot more sophisticated. Today you can browse through online sites containing tens of thousands of essays, and you can get a custom essay written for you, in your own writing style, in a matter of hours. As a teacher, I find this disturbing, because the whole purpose in of an essay assignment is for the student to learn about his/her topic and the writing process itself. Then there are the consequences that come with turning in one of these papers as your own – a college friend did exactly that and found himself expelled before the end of the week. Cheating has consequences -- and it is even easier for teachers to track down cheating today than it was in past years.

But I have no problem in principle with a company like FratFiles.com offering students access to papers and essays on common (or not so common) subjects. They do provide a good jumping-off point for research, and may even direct students to resources (online and print) that they might not have otherwise found. And they do offer some very good free essays for your examination. I am, on the other hand, less than pleased by their custom-writing service – after all, even if the essays are plagiarism-free, doesn't submitting them as one's own work constitute an act of plagiarism? I know how I would handle such a situation in my classroom – and how I have in the past.

Online Florists

One of the things about contemporary marketing is that many businesses have established an internet presence. Take, for example, the online florist. Whether we are talking the “big names” in the floral industry or smaller companies, it is just amazing the beautiful flowers you can find at a great price for quick delivery – and you can get just about anything. During my mother-in-law’s final few months, we were able to find and order a silk floral arrangement for her, because real flowers would have caused her breathing problems. She loved them, and the served as a reminder of our love in those final weeks before she entered the hospital for the last time. Yes, flowers are special.

E-florist Incorporated offers all is one of the fine companies providing floral services on the web, and they offer beautiful, reasonably priced flowers for all occasions. They offer you two options -- you can call in and place your order over the phone or you can make your purchase online. They work with local florists, so they can guarantee the delivery will be made on the day you specify! Their site is user friendly, and offers a variety of ways for you to search for just the right item, including searches by price, flower, or event. Be sure to check them out the next time you need flowers.

Mother's Day Is Coming

MotherÂ’s Day is right around the corner. And IÂ’ll be honest, IÂ’ve always struggled with how to mark that day. After all, my own mother is far from me, and isnÂ’t always the easiest person to buy for. And since my wife and I have no children except for a four-footed, fur-covered one, the day is a difficult one. And given my late mother-in-lawÂ’s breathing problems, we went for gift baskets of food.

But MotherÂ’s Day this year will be different. We lost my mother-in-law a few weeks ago, and so this year will be an especially hard one. IÂ’m feeling like I need to do something special this year. So for my own mother, I will probably send a live plant. For my wife, roses from me and the dog to show her how much we both appreciate all the mothering she does for the two of us. Perhaps this sense of loss makes it more important in my eyes to do the right thing.

One small comfort at this time is that my wife and I got to spend a weekend with her mom shortly before she died. We both got to tell her what a special lady she was. At 1800Flowers.com, they are holding "The Celebrate Mom For Who She Is" contest where you can enter to win $30,000 by writing a short story and uploading a video about your mom – a chance to say just how special she is. Take the opportunity to do that. You won’t regret it.

Reflections On Swimwear

With the weather here in Houston making that change to spring, it is already time for young ladies to make their appearance on the beach or by the pool wearing exquisite swimwear. Hey, it gets warm early down here, and stays warm late. And it isn’t like I’m dead – as long as I don’t gawk or drool, I think that enjoying the scenery is a healthy thing.

Now maybe it is the fact that I was a swimmer as a kid, and therefore surrounded by girls in Speedo suits, but I have always been and remain partial to one piece swimsuits. They leave a little something to the imagination in most cases, whereas many two piece suits are simply too revealing. I’m not a prude (or anything like one), but there is a certain virtue in modesty – and I’ve also found that quite often less (skin) is more (beauty). As I once told a friend – I found the nude beach I visited in Europe to be much less interesting than the beach where everyone wore swimsuits, because the naked flesh at the former made people-watching and conversation rather awkward.

But in the end, whether we are talking bikinis, tankinis, or some other swimsuit design, I look forward to the arrival of swimsuit weather and the joys that it brings with it.

Conductor

Let's be honest here -- training employees can be hard work, and monitoring the effectiveness of a training program can be even harder. The best thing about this software is that it allows you to seemlessly track what training every employee has had, what training they need to have. Love Your Lips!

Between weather changes here in Texas and the cold weather on the East Coast while we were traveling this past month, my lips took a real beating from the changing climtary conditions to which they were exposed. As a rule, I don’t get chapped lips – but I sure did this year. And my wife, whose more delicate skin dries much more easily, had to work to keep her lips from chapping and cracking almost any time she stepped out of doors.

But what can you use to keep your lips healthy? Well, I’m told that Cosmeceuticals and Nutraceuticals offers a great line of lip treatments to go with their other make-up and skin care products. Learn The Language of Your Choice

Learning a foreign language is one of those things that doesn’t come easy for a lot of people. For example, as much as I have studied Spanish, I have neither the time nor inclination spend the hours necessary to really master the language in a traditional classroom setting. And let’s be honest – traveling abroad for an immersion program is simply not an option for me. So what am I to do?

Well, there are always online language programs and software solutions. But the question for me is whether or not they really work. Are there good programs out there that will enable learners to achieve a sufficient degree of fluency to make them worthy of the investment in time and money. And, of course, there is always the question about the availability of certain languages at all. After all, while it may be a relatively easy task to Learn to speak Spanish, French, Italian, German, or some other languages using a well-designed and professionally tested program, do such programs exist for languages that are less commonly sought out by students in the West – languages like Urdu, Swahili, or Tagalog? While I am sure that I can find French Language Software with relative ease, what if I want to learn Basque, Croatian, or Chamorro (near and dear to my heart from my years on Guam as a kid)? Does quality Language Learning Software exist out there for these languages as well?

Believe it or not, there is a place that you can find that very software. Transparent.com offers a selection of over 100 foreign languages – including regional dialects like Cornish, Canadian French and Pidgin English – for you to learn at your pace if you want. I’m particularly impressed by the array of Slavic, African, and even Native American tongues that there are to choose from. Absolutely incredible!

Diamonds And Love

What is it about a diamond that is so attractive to us as a species. After all, it is just a piece of crystallized carbon, heated and compressed until it produces a shiny rock in one of many different hues. And yet we value them deeply, and have built up a mystique around them that goes back millenia. From the earliest days of human civilization, the diamond has had value in terms of trade and beauty.

Diamonds themselves have often been the prerogative of royalty and the very wealthy. But in the twentieth century, a custom arose of buying diamonds for engagement rings. Prior to that time other stones (or none at all) might have done instead. But it is said that the advertising of a South African diamond firm pushed the American public towards diamonds as a sign of love – and the customary figure has risen from spending one months salary to two or even three on the stone and setting. While such a gift shows financial security (after a fashion), does it really symbolize love? While diamonds are forever due to their durability, I don’t know that they signal an enduring love any more than the amethyst ring that my wife and I picked out while we were dating.

Now if you are shopping for jewelry, there is always the option of using an Online Jewelry store to make your diamond purchases. If you do, be sure to find a business that is reputable, like MyJewelryBox.com. They have a wide selection of diamond jewelry, including Diamond Pendants, for you to purchase for the special person in your life. And as a Wholesale Jewelry company, you can often expect to pay much less than at the store at the mall for your jewelry purchases. So drop by and take a look at what they have available – you won’t be sorry.

First Data Independent Sales

How often do you use a credit card when you make a purchase? Unless I miss my guess, you probably make frequent use of plastic to pay for your goods and services. It is a regular part of day-to-day life for most folks.

While some folks prefer to use cash because of the ease in controlling their expenses, most people choose the ease and convenience of credit cards – just one swipe and your done! Credit card users find this practice to be more convenient and much safer, since they don’t need a lot of cash on hand.

Of course, not every shop or restaurant has a credit card machine, but most do. You check out and see the credit card machines at each register, waiting to be used. It makes it really easy to pay the bill.

Personal Finance

I teach social studies. As a result, I often find myself teaching about economic issues, including things like personal finances. I find a lot of ignorance among my students on the topic. And I don’t just mean the macro-economic issues – there really is a dearth of knowledge on personal finance issues like loans, credit cards, and bankruptcy.

But to be honest, I guess I was the same way when I was young. I remember my first credit card. I ran that sucker up to the whole $500 limit, not realizing I couldnÂ’t carry the balance long term. I was fortunate to be able to turn to my folks for help. I learned some lessons through that experience.

If you need help wit your personal finances, CreditLoan.com can help. They have a host of personal finance articles that should help you determine what your needs are and how to proceed in your current situation.

1031 Exchange

Right now, everyone is thinking about taxes and tax-related issues. Some folks even have capital gains to consider as they make investment moves. But did you know that there is a way to take those capital gains and roll them into another asset at the same time, with the option of paying NO TAXES at all? It exists, and is called a 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchange. You can learn more about such transactions by checking the website of the 1031 Exchange Alliance.

Here’s how it works. Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code provides that no gain or loss shall be recognized on the exchange of property held for productive use in a trade or business, or for investment. Now what this means is that you have to make that capital gain and put that money back into a similar asset in such a way that you do not accrue an immediate cash profit to yourself. In effect, you are deferring taxes by making the exchange of the same sort of assets. So, for example, you could make tax-deferred exchange of one rental property for another, possibly by “buying up” into a better neighborhood or class of property, or by increasing the number of such holdings you have with the gain you made on the sale of the old asset. In effect, you increase your investment without needing to pay a large tax bill or plow in a lot of additional capital.

Cher In Vegas

How long have I been listening to Cher’s music? Well, do the words “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” have any meaning to you? And while I may not have been a fan of every song or every album, that doesn’t detract from my recognition that she is one of the best known, most recognizable, most marketable, and most durable musical celebrities of my lifetime. After all, how many singers can still put on the sort of high-energy performance that she does in her 60s – and still draw sell-out crowds doing it?

In a career that spans more than 45 years, Cher has given many great performances and won most of the major entertainment awards -- the Academy Award, Grammy Award, Emmy Award and Golden Globe, to name a few.

According to her official website, Cher is coming back to the stage – this time at The Caesar’s palace in Las Vegas, and will be entertaining her fans beginning of May, 2008. So you need to act to get yourself Cher tickets at Ceasars Palace, because the demand is high and there are rumors of ticket shortages to come. The new show debuts on May 6, and she will perform four shows per week at 7:30 PM. Don’t miss your chance to see her live one more time!
